General Skilled Migration Visa

General Skilled migration (GSM) is one of the best opportunities for skilled workers to migrate and live in Australia. Skilled migrants visa applicants can depend on their professional qualifications, work experience and language ability to meet the Australian immigration visa requirements for a permanent Australia visa.

In year 2012, the Australian immigration Department has introduced a new skilled worker program, known as the Skilled Migrant Selection Register, commonly recognised as SkillSelect. To commence the visa application process, visa applicant will need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). The SkillSelect will act as an electronic two-stage process where prospective visa applicants first submit a claim for skilled migration through an online EOI. Following this, applicants may then be invited to submit an Australian visa application based on their EOI submitted.

GSM visa applicants will be selected based on their points test score in a number of selection criteria. All prospective visa applicants will be required to meet the relevant English language requirements and obtain the necessary skills assessment prior to their EOI submission. When receive an invitation from SkillSelect, visa applicant will have 60 days to apply the visa online. During that time, visa applicant is not allow to change the information in the submitted expression of interest.

To submit a complete expression of interest, visa applicant must have competent English language skills and a positive skills assessment for your nominated occupation (or Job Ready program, if applicable).

The visa application requires extensive supporting documents, as listed in the document checklist. We recommend client to start compiling the relevant supporting documents early in the process, even before submitting the expression of interest.
